Preparation for tests and the delivery process

Preparation for laboratory tests is carried out in different ways and depends on the type of tests:

• To pass a general urine test, it is necessary to collect the concentrated first morning urine, having previously performed the toilet of the external genital organs. In this case, it is forbidden to use any detergents and auxiliary hygiene products. The collected material (50 ml is enough) must be delivered to the «DNA-Laboratory» within an hour and a half after the collection.
• For the delivery of a biochemical analysis of urine, liquid discharge is collected in one container during the day (except for the first morning) until the next morning inclusive and stored in the refrigerator. The collection must be completed no later than 7 am in order to be delivered to the laboratory in time. Please note that from all collected material, 50-100 ml of urine must be brought to the laboratory (shake the original amount thoroughly beforehand). During the period of urine collection for biochemical analysis in the DNA laboratory Kiev, it is recommended to drink plenty of liquid.
• In order to correctly pass a spermogram to find out the causes of infertility in a couple, a man needs: for 5-7 days before the analysis, refrain from sexual intercourse; for 8-10 days - from alcohol; at least a month - from taking medications; for 10 days, exclude the influence of intense heat (sauna, hot bath, heated seats in the car) on the genital area; exclude heavy physical activity and stress on the eve of the study. Research can be carried out no earlier than 2 weeks after inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract, as well as acute colds and other diseases accompanied by an increase in body temperature.
